Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i Elliptical – Right for You?
The Nordictrack SE7i elliptical is Nordictrack’s most affordable folding elliptical.
The new model comes with a sleek, new console and a brand new tablet holder above the console – to add some fun to your workouts.
The SE7i elliptical also carries a heavier flywheel than most folding units (18 pounds).
But it still easily folds up into one of the smallest footprints on the market: just 32″ x 28″.
So it’s small enough to store in a closet or corner.
You also get up to 10 degrees of incline to add some extra crosstraining to your workouts.

Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i Elliptical – The Benefits:
Folds up To Save Space
It’s getting harder to find a folding elliptical these days that still feels sturdy and stable like the Spacesaver SE7i.
If you want to save space or have a workout area that doubles as something else (like a living room), this is a very handy feature.
Just fold up the unit and roll it away when you’re done working out (there are wheels on the bottom). The arms fold down and the entire crosstrainer folds up on the front base.
It folds up to a very compact footprint: just 32″ x 28″. So it’s easy to store it somewhere else until you’re ready to use it again.
Challenge Yourself with Power Incline
Although this is becoming more common with ellipticals, it’s still a great find here that will help you add in even more crosstraining to your workout.
Incline changes the slope of the elliptical movement – which means you end up training different muscle groups. This also gives you an overall more effective and challenging workout. You get from 0 – 10 degree power incline on this trainer.
Oversized, Adjustable Pedals
The Nordictrack SE7i elliptical helps you customize your workout even more with the adjustable pedals. You can choose from 3 different toe-heel angles to find which one feels most comfortable for you.
Plus different toe-heel angles may also help you to target and tone different muscle groups.
Easy, Out-of-the-Box Assembly
While everyone wants a high quality elliptical, nobody wants to spend hours putting it together. Nordictrack has taken this into consideration and the new SE7i comes with out-of-the-box assembly.
It’s mostly already assembled in the box. It just needs 3 simple set-up steps out of the box – which should only take a few minutes (not hours!). Then you’re ready to go. So you could be using it within minutes of getting it into your house.
Travel the World with iFit
The Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i also comes iFit Compatible. With iFit you can connect it to the wireless internet in your home and run new trails all over the world – from Paris to Hawaii.
You can connect your tablet to iFit and watch real life trails pass you by as you run (see pic below).

With iFit you can also take Livestream fitness classes – which cover everything from yoga to stretching to HIIT training workouts.
You can also track your workouts over time and see how far you’ve come – which can be very motivating. And with the iFit tracker you can keep track of everything from your daily activity to nutrition to your sleep patterns.

Tablet Holder Above the Console
This years’ model comes with a brand new holder for your tablet. So you can watch your favorite shows or movies as you workout.
Plus, because the tablet does not cover the console, you can see your workout stats at the same time as you watch your tablet.
Nordictrack SE7i Review – Any Drawbacks?
iFit Subscription
While you don’t need iFit to use this elliptical, if you want to check it out you’ll need to get an iFit subscription membership. It’s not included with this elliptical as with several other Nordictrack models.
Also note that if you don’t have a tablet that you can use to connect with iFit, you won’t get full use from iFit (like the world trails or the HD workout videos).
Dual-Color Console
While this is pretty much what you’d expect at this price point, the console on the SE7i is only dual color – not multi color. Some people prefer a multi-color console of the higher end Spacesaver SE9i model. But again, this isn’t a huge deal as it’s pretty standard for this price point.
Bottom Line?
If you’re looking for a sturdy folding elliptical that’s strong enough to take longer workouts – but still light enough to fold up, you may want to consider the Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i elliptical.
It comes in at a great price – under $1000. Plus it still manages to give you a sturdy feel, heavy flywheel, incline and even adjustable footpedals to customize your workout feel.
And with the iFit, tablet holder and 24 built-in workouts, you have a lot of ways to add some fun to your workouts!
