Pros of the Nordictrack E11.7 Elliptical Trainer:
#1 Add Extra Crosstraining with a 0 to 20 Degree Power Incline
Incline or ramp changes the slope of your elliptical pathway and works different muscle groups. So you get a better overall crosstraining workout – more “bang for your workout buck” with incline.
The E11.7 goes from 0 to 20 degree incline – and you can change it with a one-touch button from the console.
#2 Oversized, Adjustable Pedals
The E11.7 lets you customize your workout with the adjustable pedals. You can choose from 3 different toe-heel angles to find which one feels most comfortable for you.
Plus different toe-heel angles may also help you to target and tone different muscle groups. It also makes it a great choice for multi-user families since everyone can find a good fit for them.
#3 iFit LIVE
The E11.7 is iFit compatible. iFit connects your elliptical to the Internet. From there you can download unlimited new workouts to your elliptical – including some from celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels where she coaches you through you workout.
You can also map out new trails to run all over the world with Googlemaps and iFit.
The incline and resistance will automatically change to match the terrain of the trail you’re running.
#4 Long 20 Inch Stride
The stride is the furthest distance between the elliptical pedals. A longer stride helps you work your leg muscles more fully. The E11.7 has a generous 20 inch stride which will really let you stretch out and run in comfort.
#5 One Touch Resistance/Incline Controls
Change your resistance or incline (ramp) with the push of a button with the one-touch controls on the console.
You can easily adjust your workout settings with one button without having to scroll through all of your options.
#6 Snap Assembly
While everyone wants a high quality elliptical, nobody wants to spend hours putting it together.
Nordictrack has taken this into consideration and the new 2014 model is super-simple to assemble.
It’s basically put together in 3 steps out of the box – which should only take a few minutes (not hours!) and ready to go. So you could be using it within minutes of getting it into your house.
Cons of the Nordictrack 11.7 Elliptical Trainer:
#1 iFit Live Module Needed
The Nordictrack E11.7 is iFit compatible – but you do need to purchase the iFit module (about $99) in order to use iFit. You can still use this elliptical without iFit – you can always wait and try the iFit module later, depending on your schedule and needs.
#2 Dual Color Console
The console on this crosstrainer is bright and backlit with a large viewing angle. However it is dual color – not multicolor. Some people prefer a multi-color console, especially if they are using the iFit.
Bottom Line?
If you’re looking for an affordable elliptical that is well constructed (heavy flywheel, longer 20 inch stride) but still gives you some extras to make your workout more comfortable (iFit, adjustable pedals, console fan), you may want to consider the E11.7 crosstrainer.
It’s new for 2014 and can be hard to find – but you can get it at a $100 discount here and even get Free Shipping.
