For those of you looking the latest premium, front drive crosstrainer, you may be interested in the new Nordictrack 14.9 Elliptical trainer.
It is new for 2016, replacing the older Elite 16.9 model. The Commercial 14.9 model is built tougher than their starter crosstrainers, which means it is ideal for heavier use, longer workouts or multiple-user households.
For example, you get a monster sized 32 pound flywheel – which is amazing.
A heavier flywheel does two things. First of all, it makes your ride feel a lot smoother – without a lot of jerky-stop-and-starts that you can often get with cheaper ellipticals.
Second of all, it helps to anchor the machine (especially in a front drive design) and adds stability. So you get less shaking and wobbling with a heavier flywheel (other things being equal).
The Nordictrack 14.9 elliptical trainer also comes with the largest web browser that Nordictrack makes – a full 10 inches across. So you can surf the net or watch iFit LIVE scenery in full color.
Plus they’ve also added an adjustable tablet holder above the console. So you can add even more fun to the workout by watching your favorite shows or movies on your tablet.
While this elliptical may be a bit overkill for the occasional, 1-person user household, if you want a strong, stable machine with all the bells and whistles it’s worth considering.
